Since we travel often with three kids, on more than one rainy day we’ve wanted to hit a children’s museum in a city we were visiting. And although I know it’s worth it, I’ll admit I flinch a little when I fork over $60 to get in.

Don’t you love it when your husband asks this question with wide eyes, as though envisioning you sprawled on the couch, eating marshmallows and peanut butter straight from the jar? (OK, that DID happen, but it was so a one time thing- normally, working my fingers to the bone, ladies.)

But the truth is, once the children are delivered and the basic house tasks are done, you do have a few free hours to play with. If you have a full time job, you’re covered, your next stop is your office. But if not, what are some fruitful ways to use that time?

When I was growing up, my mother always said, “You can fall in love with a rich man just as easy as anyone else!” But for those of us who didn’t get that memo, or haven’t yet won the lottery, filthy lucre is a pervasive theme in everyday life.

 

How to get it, how to have enough, how we shouldn’t be spending it, or how we want more. But when your money has systems in place to free up that brain power, you’ll have more time (and more cash!) for fun.
