We just returned from a two week trip out West.  Since we live in Maryland, Utah and Wyoming were a big shock to our systems - in a good way. Everywhere we looked, there were mountains, beautiful scenery, and best of all:  NO HUMIDITY.

I am constantly engaging with my children. Of course I'm not saying this is a bad thing, but from the moment we awake we are always interacting. I don't drop them off at school (we school at home) or daycare (I work at home). They play sports, but I'm at every practice. We even have to go to Costco as a family, because we have to fill two carts, meaning the kids tag along. We truly do everything together.

As I spend a good chunk of our days teaching my four older children, I am finding that my younger two kiddos seem to run out of supervised things to do to occupy themselves. “Read me a story, please, Mom?” or “Can I watch a ‘toon?” seem to be the most common requests coming from Ben (3) and Noah (2). However tempting it is to just plop them down in front of the TV, these options are neither feasible nor smart when I’m teaching fractions or overseeing a science experiment.
